Exploring the Apollo Legacy

What is the legacy of the Apollo program, and how can it help us meet the challenges of our own time? Take a look at this beautiful, short film, produced by the MIT AMPS team, which kicked off MIT’s "Giant Leaps" event, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the first lunar landing, and to envision the future of spaceflight.

This anniversary is also an ideal occasion to revisit two of the School’s most significant space-related projects. The story of the Apollo guidance system is told in Digital Apollo, by David Mindell, Professor of the History of Engineering and Manufacturing, and Director of the STS program. Mindell also headed up the recent, major study, A New Vision for Human Spaceflight.
