Bengt Holmström wins the 2016 Nobel Prize in Economics

Bengt Holmström, the Paul Samuelson Professor of Economics in MIT SHASS, has won a share of the Nobel Prize in Economics for his contributions to contract theory. Holmstrom shares the prize with Oliver Hart, of Harvard University. Both professors expressed their admiration for one another's research, and their pleasure to share the prize.
