Subject requirements

To fulfill the requirements, take four subjects from the list below with no more than two subjects from a single area. A HASS concentration may include only one subject that also counts toward the HASS Distribution Requirement. You may include more than one only if the additional subject will not count as a HASS Distribution subject in your degree audit.

With the permission of the concentration advisor, students may take one or two introductory, intermediate, or advanced subjects in one of the following languages offered by Harvard University or Wellesley College: Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Turkish. The advisor may also approve other Middle Eastern languages, such as Armenian, Greek, or Kurdish.
