Blythe de Oliveira Foster

Blythe de Oliveira Foster is Director of Performance Programs and a Lecturer in MIT’s Music and Theater Arts Section, working at the intersection of performance, place, and community engagement. Recent projects include performing in Italy with Anna-Helena McLean’s A Voice Lesson, acting in Boston’s NETWORK, curating Geo Britto’s workshops at MIT, directing Antigonick, and conceiving Saudades, an immersive installation. She has taught and directed at UC Santa Barbara, Salem State, and Phillips Exeter Academy. Acting credits include American Conservatory Theater, Berkeley Rep, Classic Stage Company, and international touring with Word for Word.

Blythe holds an MFA in Acting from Columbia University and trained with Kristin Linklater and Bread & Puppet Theater.
