Lerna Ekmekcioglu is Head of the History Section and the McMillan-Stewart Professor of History. Her research examines how communities survive, adapt, remember, and make claims on justice under difficult political conditions. She is a historian of the modern Middle East, the Ottoman Empire, and Turkey, Armenian history, gender, feminism, genocide, and minority politics.
