Maureen Hughes

Maureen is a lectures whose focus is education. She is committed to ensuring prospective science and math teachers have a deep understanding of pedagogy and the necessary educational tools to inspire future STEM leaders. She brings a global perspective to her teaching and her research, as she investigates how historically marginalized and disadvantaged populations perform within top educational systems worldwide.

“Every activity was creatively crafted and tailored to the content at hand. One day we would do a reading jigsaw where we teach the material from our readings to classmates, and one day we would be given roles for a mock school committee meeting. It’s clear that even after teaching the class for many years, she still spends so much time thinking and planning how to make it better.”
