Did scientists just detect an exploding black hole?
MIT physicist and Program in Science, Technology, and Society professor David Kaiser and graduate student Alexandra Klipfel spoke with the New York Times about an energetic neutrino discovered in the Mediterranean Sea in February 2023 and its possible connection to a primordial black hole. “You’ll never, ever hope to see Hawking radiation if the only black holes ever were ones that formed from dead stars,” Kaiser says.
