Election conspiracy theories fueled a push to hand-count votes, but doing so is risky and slow
Charles Stewart, founding director of MIT’s Election Data and Science Lab and a political science professor, spoke with the Associated Press about the persistence of election-related conspiracy theories and the push to increase the use of hand counting for votes. “This movement could have died if it had just been a flash in the pan from the 2020 election,” he said.
