SHASS celebrates 2026 Infinite Mile Award winners
Six staff members were recognized for their contributions to the MIT community.

The MIT School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences recently recognized the 2026 winners of the School’s Infinite Mile Award. The ceremony was held on Thursday, May 21 in the Edward and Joyce Linde Music Building’s Thomas Tull Concert Hall.
The awards highlight members of the SHASS staff who have made exceptional contributions to their academic units, the School, and the Institute. These colleagues regularly exemplify the spirit of going the extra mile in their roles and work, supporting their teams’ missions in diverse initiatives throughout the school.
Infinite Mile Award winners are nominated by their colleagues.

“This year’s nominees have consistently exemplified the spirit of creativity and camaraderie we value at SHASS,” says Agustín Rayo, the Kenan Sahin Dean of SHASS. “Their commitment to their colleagues and the work they do should be celebrated year-round.”
This year’s Infinite Mile Award winners are:
- Stephanie Brandão Carvalho, Senior Academic Programs Assistant, Program in Science, Technology and Society
- Jack Cavanagh, Research Manager, J-PAL Global
- Paula Cogliano, Director of Administration and Finance, Global Languages
- Luis “Cuco” Daglio, Multimedia Specialist 2, Music and Theater Arts
- Vanmey Ma, Administrative Assistant 2, Women’s and Gender Studies
- Eduardo Rivera, Assistant Director for Data Systems, Center for International Studies, MISTI
