MIT and the Legacy of Slavery: Community Dialogue

At an event on February 16, 2018, 250 members of the MIT community gathered to explore the initial findings from the “MIT and Slavery” class, first taught in the Fall of 2017. Featuring MIT President L. Rafael Reif and SHASS Dean Melissa Nobles as well as historian Craig Steven Wilder and research librarian Nora Murphy, who together co-taught “MIT and Slavery,” the event included presentations by the student researchers and questions from the audience about the findings and their implications.
