Heather Paxson Receives Belasco Prize

Heather Paxson, Associate Professor of Anthropology, is the first recipient of the Belasco Prize for Scholarly Excellence from the Association for the Study of Food and Society for "Post-Pasteurian Cultures: The Microbiopolitics of Raw-Milk Cheese in the United States," which was published in Cultural Anthropology 23(1):15-47. 

The Belasco Prize
The Belasco Prize for Scholarly Excellence recognizes a peer-reviewed article published in the last two years, that exhibits superior research, a unique perspective and methodological approach as well as novel insights for the study of food. Clear and effective writing as well as a persuasive thesis are also criteria for this award. A stipend accompanies the award.
